My goodness it has been quite a week for The Beat Of The Street. We went out walking, and talking downtown and had an amazing response.  Busker Idol has taken off! July 11th at The Red Martini Grill will have a great line up of performers and mystery judges. We have two great acts lined up and would love to have more. Coast Radio and CHLY are on board as well as Nanaimo Information to help spread the word.Go Nanaimo does a great job of promotion as does Harbour Living Magazine. Music Maxx has given a huge contribution of gear and gifts for the Busker Idol and The Little Woodstock West Festival.

 Coast Realty http://www.coastrealty.com/ is helping with big tents. Nanaimo Webmasters Morgan Carey has donated our website www.thebeatofthestreet.org as well as cash to help the cause. The City Of Nanaimo Parks Recreation and Culture gave us a festival grant. Insurance costs for The Little Woodstock West Street festival are huge and we could use some help with that. The Street Is coming To The Community and The community is coming to the Street. We still need acts that are unusual like fire dancers and stilt walkers. Childrens Entertainers? This a family event!Also volunteers for the festival on September 3rd and 4thGo Nanaimo!

The City Of Nanaimo proclaimed September as “Busking “ month in Nanaimo thus recognizing busking as a viable contribution to Arts and Culture. In 2010 the Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee awarded a Festival grant of $785.00 for our Little Woodstock West International Festival on September 3rd and 4th.Thank You to our great Council and Parks, Recreation and Culture.
